Christmas on the Farm

A handmade Christmas for the whole family, and this year, nobody has to host.

Is it always you who hosts Christmas? The planning, the shopping, the cooking, the clean-up, while everyone else gets to relax.

This year, bring everyone to our farm in Tenterfield instead. The homestead sleeps six, and we’ll have it ready for you: the tree up, the larder stocked with things I’ve made by hand, and a Christmas cake waiting on the bench. All you need to do is arrive.

What’s waiting for you

Everything in your Christmas hamper is made by hand, here on the farm, by me.

The Christmas cake. I’ve made our Christmas cake by hand for years, with the fruit soaked well ahead and the cake fed and wrapped in the weeks before Christmas. A whole one will be on the bench when you arrive.

The hamper. A selection from our larder: jam made from fruit we’ve grown, pickles for the Christmas table, fruit mince, granola for slow breakfasts, and a jar of something special to take home.

The garden. The flower and vegetable garden is yours for the stay. Pick what you need for Christmas lunch, and a jug of flowers for the table.

The house. The tree will be up, and the homestead dressed for Christmas and ready for you to settle in.

A slower Christmas

No rushing between houses, and no one stuck in the kitchen all day. Just long breakfasts, a walk up Bald Rock on Boxing Day, a lunch at the Granite Belt wineries, and evenings together on the verandah as the light goes down.
